HA1 Task 7: Professional Bodies in the Video Game Industry

ELSPA: ELSPA is a video game content rating system, it is a system used for the classification of video games into the relative groups. Most of these systems are associated with and/or sponsored by a government

IGDA: International Game Developers Association (IGDA) is an official association of over 10,000 video game developers. It is a non-profit organization and is stated to “advance the careers and enhance the life of aspired game designers”. There is no barrier to entry so anyone who sees themselves as game developers may join.
Women in Games: Womeningames is a corporation inspiring women to join the video games industry. They hold conferences every year for women part of the industry as well as encouraging new female individuals to join.
BAFTA: The British Academy of Film and Television Awards (BAFTA) announced in 2003 that they will be splitting their Video Game Awards from the Interactive Media category. The awards are given to anyone of note in the Video Games Industry.

MEF: Managed Extensibility Framework is a component for creating light extensible applications. It allows application developers to discover and use extensions with no configuration required. It also lets extension developers easily encapsulate code and avoid fragile hard dependencies. MEF not only allows extensions to be reused within applications, but across applications as well.
